  2. Hi I moved to Somersham some 3 years ago from Cheshire and have scanned the usual net sites for interesting facts and old photos.I am particularly looking for information on no.3 High Street I believe was the old granary , the history of the Rose & Crown and an ancient well rear of church ?

    Regards Mike Darbyshire

    • Hi Mike – thanks for your query, which has only just come through to me for some reason. I don’t have the answers for you but one of our members is very knowledgeable about the history of individual sites in Somersham and may be able to help. I’ll pass your questions on to him and hopefully he’ll be able to respond.

      • Hi again Mike
Our local historian has responded “Sorry I know nothing about No.3 High Street. I have never researched the history of the Rose & Crown although it is possible to find the names of the landlords from the censuses and trade directories and all I know about the well is that it is marked on many old maps as ‘Bucks Well’.”
Hope that helps a bit, and maybe some other Somersham residents may have a little more information about your three queries…
        Best wishes
