Somersham Nature Reserve Group

We are a group of local volunteers that work with the Parish Council and Cambridgeshire County Council to manage the local nature reserve for the benefit of local people and local wildlife.

We run a programme of activities on the nature reserve all the year round from conservation workparties in the winter to guided walks and wildlife discovery days in the spring and summer.

The conservation workparties are free of charge but a small donation may be requested for the summer activities.

  1. Hi my name is Levi I’m a big angler. I’m just wondering how I can fish the nature reserve in Somersham I go for daily walks and it’s a lovely lake lovely fish to. Can I pay for day tickets or what do I do

  2. Hi, I don’t know if anyone will pick this up in time, but my husband is stuck in the nature reserve with our lurcher, who has hurt his leg and won’t walk. The dog is too heavy for my husband, age 80, to carry. Is there anyone in the group who has vehicle access who could help. He has our car at the entrance, but just needs help to get Hector there. They are near the turbine by the lake so there is a farm track nearby. My husband (Max) has his phone with him, so if you can help could you please ring him on 07769 908 171. I’m leaving this message at 10:35, Wed 21 Sep. Many thanks, Valerie Emmons
